On Saturday, April 21, 2018, the Midwest Drywall Olympics were held at the Greenwood, IN Training Center. Jose Reyes from Local 181 represented the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters. Jose competed against the four other Regional Councils that make up the Midwest Council to see who was the fastest Drywaller in the region. After the judging on quality was done and all penalties added to everyone’s time, Jose Reyes was named the winner of the 2018 Midwest Drywall Competition. Jose will be representing the Midwest in the UBC Drywall Olympics at the International Training Center in Las Vegas the end of June.
