Applications are accepted during specific Application Periods, as determined by the Apprentice Program
Entry Process
- Applicant must be at least 17 years of age to apply, 18 years to start attending classes.
- Each candidate will need to fill out an application online. A link will be posted on our website mactc.org.
- During the application period, the applicant will need to appear in-person at Carpenter Training Center, 1256 Estes Avenue, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 with a valid Driver’s License or Government Issued State ID and submit a $25 Non-Refundable Application processing fee (Cashier’s Check/Money Order/Credit and Debit Card accepted/No Cash).
Veterans only: DD214 Form also needs to be submitted.
If you fail to appear with your ID and a $25 non-refundable processing fee during the application period, your online application will be voided.
- Once those requirements are completed, the applicant will be given the testing dates to gain entry into our Pre-Apprenticeship Program.
Prior to starting a class, applicant must:
- Submit High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate or officially sealed High School Transcripts (minimum 8 credits).
- Submit Original Social Security Card or receipt showing duplicate card has been applied for or official IRS document confirming ITIN #
- Pass a drug test
- Be physically able to perform the work of a trade
A recommendation letter from a signatory contractor or Local Union is not required to apply for our Pre-Apprenticeship Program.

You do not need prior experience working on a job site or with hand tools or machinery.
Office: 7:30AM to 4:00PM Monday – Friday
Training: 8:00AM to 4:00PM Monday- Friday
