Applying for a General Carpenter Apprenticeship
At the Western Missouri location, apprentices will learn various skills used for building houses, commercial buildings, concrete structures, and industrial facilities. They will learn to work with building materials such as wood, drywall, metal studs, and fasteners commonly used on construction job sites. Carpenter apprentices will be exposed to many aspects of the trade, working toward mastering their skills.
Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Must pass a drug test

Indenturing Process
Beginning the indenturing process:
- Obtain a job with a signatory contractor and obtain a letter of intent on company letterhead signed by a representative of the company
- After contacting the contractor willing to commit to your employment, you will need to contact the Kansas City, Missouri Training Center to schedule a time to come and get indentured
- Contact the Kansas City Carpenters Training Facility to schedule a time to go and get indentured. The Kansas City Apprenticeship Program is currently indenturing applicants on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8a.m. to 3p.m. Wednesday 9a.m. to 3:30p.m. Friday 8a.m. to 11a.m., and is located at:

- You may take the test once
You will need to bring the following:
- Letter of Intent
- Driver’s license
- Social Security Card
- $50 permit fee (cash, check, or credit card)
- Take and pass a drug test
- High school diploma/GED/HiSet (if obtained)
Office: 7:30AM to 4:00PM Monday- Friday
Training: 6:30AM to 4:00PM Tuesday – Friday
