Qualifications

In order to become an apprentice, an applicant must meet the following qualifications:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age
2. Must complete an application
3. Must provide acceptable proof of ~
*Social Security Number
*Drivers License
*Educational Transcripts
*Work Experience
*Green Card or Work Visa (if applicable)
*DD214 from Military (if applicable)
4. Must take and pass a math test (70%)
5. Must successfully complete an oral interview
6. Must pass a physical exam & drug screen

Office: 7:30AM to 3:30PM Monday – Friday
Training: 7:00AM to 3:30PM Monday- Friday

ATTEND AND ORIENTATION THE 1ST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH (EXCEPT JANUARY) AT 9AM

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR APPRENTICESHIP

  1. Fill out the Pre-Trial Apprentice Application form in its entirety. (Application provided at orientation)
  2. You must furnish with your application with the following:
    1. $50 Applicant fee (cash, check, money order or card – payable to Illowa Millwrights JATC)
    2. A copy of your birth certificate
    3. A copy of your high school diploma or GED
    4. A copy of your high school transcripts (regardless of how long you attended high school)
      1. The high school can email the transcripts
      2. If applicable – college transcripts, certifications, or DD214
    5. A resume or work history
    6. 4-5 Letters of Recommendation (can be from anyone)
    7. IH Mississippi Valley CU application w/ copy of Driver’s License

**To get  – you are required to have the following submitted:

  • $50 Applicant Fee

  • Copy of High School Diploma or GED

** If you attended an orientation January – July …. Then ALL documentation is due no later than July 31st of that year, or you will not be invited to the Math Test

** If you attended an orientation August – December … Then ALL documentation is due no later than December 31st of that year, or you will not be invited to the math test**
