Skill Advancement – Introduction
The Importance of Training
In construction, if you don’t produce, you’re not an asset to anyone—not the general contractor, the project manager, or the end-user. UBC members know this; our contractors know this; and our union’s leadership knows it. That’s the reason our foundation is to deliver skilled, productive workers.
UBC training is the hallmark of our union. While our members may have vastly different skill sets, they all share the pride and commitment of being the most highly trained in the most up-to-date theories and methodologies, tools, installation procedures, and safety measures in the industry.
It’s the UBC’s Edge, and it’s the asset our contractors can bank on.
New Courses for 2023
New courses have been developed and added to our 2023 schedule. Here are some of the new courses that were added:
RIGGER AND SIGNALER QUALIFICATION – REPLACES THE RIGGER AND SIGNALER CERTIFICATION CLASS
Improve your skills by enrolling in one of these new classes.
Check your Training Verification Card for the expiration date of your Qualification/Certification courses. 60 days prior to the expiration date, the course will turn yellow to bring it to your attention. When your Qualification/Certification expires, the records will disappear from your training history.
Be sure to schedule a refresher course prior to the expiration date. **THE SCAFFOLD AND RIGGING QUALIFICATION MUST BE REFRESHED PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION DATE**
KEEP YOUR CARDS CURRENT!
